I’m Emily, a small animal veterinary surgeon with a particular passion for surgery.
I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2015 and began my career in first-opinion small animal practice. This gave me a broad foundation in general practice and, importantly, the opportunity to see how valuable good surgical care can be to both veterinary teams and their clients.
Wanting to develop my surgical skills further, I subsequently joined an independent referral hospital, where I gained experience with a wide range of surgical cases including soft tissue, orthopaedic and neurological and completed my Certificate in Small Animal Surgery.
I now work exclusively as a peripatetic veterinary surgeon as ParaVet care Ltd, travelling throughout the North East of England to provide soft tissue and orthopaedic surgical support within primary care practices.
When she’s not operating, Emily enjoys getting out into the countryside with her working Cocker Spaniel, Jasper. She enjoys walking, exploring new places and generally spending as much time outdoors as possible.
Why ParaVet care?
ParaVet Care was created from my desire to make experienced surgical support more accessible to primary care veterinary practices.
Not every surgical case needs to be referred to a specialist centre, but some cases benefit from additional surgical experience, equipment or support. By bringing surgical services directly into practices, ParaVet Care aims to give veterinary teams another option for managing suitable cases while maintaining continuity of care for their clients and patients.
